Why can’t white corundum replace brown corundum

Compared with brown corundum, white corundum has higher purity and greater hardness than brown corundum, and it will not color the surface of the workpiece during polishing and other operations. It has many advantages that brown corundum does not have. Why can’t white corundum replace brown corundum? The editor of Haixu Abrasives will introduce it to you.

Reasons why white corundum cannot replace brown corundum:
1. The price is too high: the purity of white corundum is higher than that of brown corundum. It is conceivable that its production procedure is relatively complicated, so the production cost will increase, and the price of finished white corundum will naturally be high. The price of brown corundum is lower than that of white corundum, and no one will think of using white corundum to solve the problems that can be solved with brown corundum.
2. Inappropriate hardness: Although the hardness of brown corundum is not as high as that of white corundum, its toughness is very good, and its compressive resistance is much better than that of white corundum for some processed parts. Another one, for some workpieces, excessive hardness can easily cause damage to the surface of the workpiece, which is not worth the candle.
In fact, everything is divided according to its physical and chemical properties. Two similar things, even if their properties are slightly different, will have a very different use, so don’t worry about it. It’s too serious, you have to use it appropriately, it’s too wasteful to use it overkill.
